The Grand Opening of e4 Chess Academy was a resounding success, drawing chess enthusiasts from all over Norwalk to compete and celebrate. Held at 15 Belden Ave, the tournament featured a thrilling lineup of four rounds with a G/30 d5 format.
The day began with excitement as players took their places, and by the second round, a dramatic clash between top players Alex and Jordan captivated the audience. The competition was fierce and strategic, culminating in an intense Armageddon game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
As the tournament concluded, the winners were celebrated with prize money of $300, $200, and $100, plus additional $100 awards for top players under 1800 and 1400 ratings. After the official rounds, participants enjoyed free pizza and casual games, rounding off a memorable and successful event.
